Storefronts: How They Work

You're strolling through the mall, without any actual plans of buying anything, just decided to go because there's air conditioning and various places to get ice cream. That's when you stop. I mean, you have to. How can you not stop and observe the majestic compilation that is this incredible storefront? You look and look and look and before you know it you're stepping into the store and buying every pair of shoes in sight, forgetting the ice cream you came for in the first place. This is called visual retail marketing.

I visted the mall to show you what i'm talking about. I saw various interesting displays, including an all white ensemble at the very entrance of the Zara store, but the Aldo storefront was the one that really caught my eye. No too flashy or complicated, the real stars of this presentation are the products being sold.

Being a sucker for pastel, the consistent theme of blues, pinks and neutral hues are noticeable. The pink cat bag in the left corner almost made me combust of excitement. the high low effect kept me looking from side to side. The campaign ad matches the color palette of the products, making me try to find the pair of shoes from the picture. In case you think the little, blue heels aren't in your budget, the 50% Spring Sale might convince you. The simplicty of the exhibition is what wouldv'e encouraged me, making the products really stand out.

For a retail store, a good storefront is essential. Keeping the target clientele in mind, showcasing the product and offering valuable information to the consumer will be key to the success of that storefront.
